Thompson wherever and whenever he could. And made seemingly mad predictions, from the death of status quo Capitalism to Joe Biden becoming V.P., that kept coming true, over and over again. And now he's calling for a Renaissance.. //

Dear America, You Have A Gun Problem

How many Columbines? How many Trayvons? How many Gabrielle Giffords? How many movie theaters? Who in hell needs access to an assault rifle? How long will you let the NRA run your government for you? How many stony faced politicians from both Left and Right that in acts of supreme cowardice refuse to address the real problems? Don’t tell people to pray. Fix this.

Dear #America, you have a racism problem and you have a gun problem. Neither of those have any quick fixes but you know what does? Stupid, bad, mindnumbingly crazy legislation like the ‘Stand Your Ground Law’ that enabled that idiot to walk free from the authorities even though he admitted to killing an unarmed Trayvon Martin that very night. The rest of the civilized world just shakes its head and says “what the fuck is going ON in that country?”
I don’t know how else to say it other than you have nutcases making legislation with either no care or foresight about the ramifications of their actions. Or maybe they want this? Fear keeps a population compliant to power and it also sells one fuckload of guns but hey, shit, you tell me. But get them out of power, anybody that had anything to do with this stupid law has no business making more laws, agreed? (Bush thought it was awesome, I recall, which should have been everybody’s first clue this was a grotesquely stupid idea)
Get it off the books. The law has to be removed. Justice has not been done in the name of Trayvon Martin until you kill the law that enabled his killer to walk free.
